Description
I AM NOT SELLING A KIT,
only new, full-size copies of the
PLANS
&
PARTS PATTERNS
for the
ACE HIGH MK II
RC sailplane that requires 2 Ace foam wings
.
TO BUILD A MODEL, YOU WILL NEED A SET OF CONSTANT CHORD & A SET OF TAPERED ACE FOAM WING PANELS. MY LAST TWO PICTURES SHOW THE BOX LABELS OF ACE FOAM WING SETS THAT APPEAR AT TIMES ON EBAY.
I DO NOT PROVIDE FOAM WINGS WITH THESE PLANS & PARTS PATTERNS
.
Flying my vintage
ACE HIGH
72" span, single-channel RC glider that used a Cox Baby Bee on a power pod was one really relaxing way to spend an afternoon. I still have the model in my workshop because it is ready to go after all these years. You can see my old red & white, monokote-covered wing with a power pod in picture #5 placed over these
MARK II
kit plans and parts patterns.
All you have to do to make yourself a complete, excellent fun-flying glider is use the patterns sheet to cut out the parts and glue it all together. I include a copy of the Ace instruction sheet that was always included in Ace kits on how to assemble their foam wing sections; how to add trailing edge strips as well as applying the traditional strapping tape from tip to tip to give the foam wing the necessary rigidity and strength for long-time service.
THIS PLAN IS FOR THE UPDATED
MK II
VERSION OF THE GREAT OLD
ACE HIGH
AND IS IS UPDATED TO A 2-CHANNEL RC. IT MAY BE STRONGER & LIKELY WILL LAST LONGER THAN THE VINTAGE
ACE HIGH
MODEL. YET I DID NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM AT ALL WITH MY ORIGINAL MODEL'S DURABILITY. THAT'S WHY I HAVE KEPT IT ALL THESE YEARS.
IT IS EASY TO ADD ELECTRIC POWER ON THE POWER POD. I HAVE ADDED A PICTURE OF SUCH A SETUP FROM
GERALD BAILY
WHO USED AN ELECTRIC
PUSHER
SETUP WITH A FOLDING PROPELLER ON HIS SAILPLANE. THANKS,
GERALD
, FOR SHARING WITH US.
MY COMPLETED RED AND WHITE FOAM WINGS WITH A GAS POWER POD THAT IS SHOWN IN PICTURE #5 IS NOT FOR SALE.
