***Michelob Anheuser-Busch Collector*** Extremely Rare COX Vintage Cosmic Wind Control Line Promotional Michelob AIRBORNE Anheuser-BuschModel Airplane Back in 1987, Anheuser-Busch contracted with Cox Industries to make a handful of promotional model airplanes for the continuation of the successful MICHELOB AIRBORNE promotion for the spring of 1988. Each of the AIRBORNE promotional kits came with the Airplane, Range Kit (Separate box for Fuel, Battery, Glow Plug Clip, Wrench & Control Line and Handle), AIRBORNE tracking Poster, Promotional Catalogue, ScoreCards and original box. Each Anheuser-Busch Wholesalers and Wholesale Operations Managers for each branch was to choose a person and deem them as the “Aviator” and the enrollment card would be sent back to Anheuser-Busch. This is most certainly the only AIRBORNE kit that did not get enrolled as the enrollment card is included and unused and most likely the only new/complete Comic Wind Michelob AIRBORNE kit in existence today. This Cosmic Wind is also rare because it was manufactured in the original birthplace of Santa Ana , California , as Cox had moved its manufacturing back to California for a few years in the 1980’s. Cox did very few promotional, one-off, models because of the cost and disruption to the manufacturing process. Anheuser-Busch has the resources to approach COX and spent tens of thousands, if not a hundreds thousands for this promotion, just look at the professional photography and design of these detailed materials and catalogs! If you a  discerning COX – vintage control line collector, this promotional model is comparable to rare art as this represents the pinnacle of two great American owned manufactures. COX International is still around, but just a tiny shell of its former self. This is just as much as an Anheuser-Busch promotional collectable and only adds to the rare value of the COX AIRBORNE kit and may have more value as an Anheuser-Busch company archives. The complete COX Range kit is very rare and worth quite a bit itself, how long as it been seen you seen one that is complete and unused????? One side of the box has a small amount of wear and possible water damage, about 4" by 2" inch area and the upper right section of the Large Scoring Poster has some light spotting from something. Other than that, the Kit is complete and as new as can be expected from an item over 34 years old. I have this listed on several sites and will stop bidding if someone else buys.
