    Description

    COBRA 7
U/C Stunt design originally designed by Steve Wooley with advanced design development by Bill "Ares" Werwage
    Wingspan: 56"  •  Area: 639 s.i.  •  .46 Engines
COBRA 7 was featured in the April 1990 issue of Flying Models magazine
    This
    Cobra
is the 7th in a series that was a 2nd generation design of Steve's
    Argus
which was originally built in 1959 and flown in 1960.
    The original
    Cobra
pictured below was published in the February 1971 issue of American Modeler
    Steve Wooley with his
    original
    Cobra
    "
    COBRA
IS my approach to precision aerobatics with a control line model. It is not a stunter---the twin-boom, tri-motored, jet-styled models of  past years are, and it is significant that, while the 1968 FAI Control Line Team selection events were crowded with jet-style models, it was the conventional aircraft that finally placed one, two, three, four. Cobra was in this group and carried the U.S. colors to Helsinki, Finland, where it finished fourth in the 1968 World Championships.
Not without a pedigree, Cobra is derived from the successful
    Argus
    (pictured below),
which I flew to berths on the U.S. Control Line Teams twice and which helped bring the title of World Precision Acrobatic Champions to the U.S. team both times...."
[excerpt from Steve Wooleys' 1971 American Aircraft Modeler article]
Argus was proclaimed "The Most Beautiful Plane in the World!" at World Championships
