I AM NOT SELLING A KIT,
only a new, full-size copy of an
ENLARGED
Midwest TRI-SQUIRE
PLAN
to build a 72" wingspan model airplane.
Of all the really old time RC designs that one could choose to build and know you'll find success and enjoyable flying, the
TRI-SQUIRE
is one of your best choices. It’s a 3-channel RC (no ailerons), a slightly swept back rudder and fin, a symmetrical airfoiled stabilizer with a full length narrow elevator.
Don't plan to build today's flat plate stabilizer instead of the symmetrical airfoil shown on the plans. The performance will suffer. This design is from the days of rubber band powered actuators (servos had not yet been invented) and a "kick-up" elevator. That old control method was crude. But, for those who were trying to go higher than rudder-only control back then, this plane was the answer in its day!
To make this enlargement possible, each of the two 51” plan pages (also pictured for reference) have been carefully split, with sufficient overlap, to give you four very large plan pages. The prints are excellent and there is no quality loss with the enlargements. So build it just as they did nearly 60 years ago and you'll have a marvelous time.
This enlarged Tri-Squire would need a .40 size engine.
I also offer the
Midwest TRI-SQUIRE
PLAN
at its original 51” wingspan.
