Triumph Spitfire Midget 1500 1975-78 Cooling Fan and viscous clutch OEMThis is a good original used cooling fan and viscous clutch for Triumph Spitfire 1500 from 1975 to 1978.
This is the OEM part made in England by Holset of Huddersfield.
This came from a 1978 car but I think it should be a direct fit for any 1975-78 model (and presumably for the MG midget 1500 in those came years which used the same Triumph engine). Note, this part could be retrofitted to any Spitfire from 1962-1978 but you'd also need to use the matching water pump too.
This is the viscous clutch fan that "slips" and does not rotate with the water pump when cold and then locks up as the temperature rises.
The fan and clutch are in good shape.
The center "slips" as expected at room temperature. I haven't been able to test out that it locks up in warmed-up mode. It came off a parts car that has a fully assembled complete engine so I assume it was in use and functional.
The fan is in decent usable shape. There are minor notches or nicks on two of the blades but nothing that would interfere with its function.
It comes with the corrugated sleeve that fits between the boss of the fan clutch and the shaft of the water pump. The 4 bolts that hold the fan to the clutch are brand new stainless steel items and it comes with 4 spare stainless nyloc nuts.
