PLAN
to build a 49"
AERO COMMANDER
UC scale model.
This
AERO COMMANDER
UC scale model was done by Jim Moynihan. It has a 49" wing span and calls for two .15s. The
AERO COMMANDER
was such a dependable and stable executive aircraft back in the 1950s that it served as President Dwight Eisenhower's preferred Air Force One. Eisenhower was the first U.S. President to have a pilot's license---which he earned in the Army in the Phillipines. So, having a small executive aircraft suited his idea of flying very well.
The original plan was sent in the 1950s with all of the parts patterns and wing & fuselage layout, so close together and overlapping that you would have needed to make two copies in order to cut out all of the parts. So I cut up two copies and pasted the parts patterns and the entire layout on a larger sheet of paper.
So each previously overlayed part is separated out so there is now an isolated pattern for each part.
I AM INCULDING BOTH THE ORIGINAL COMPACTED PLAN AND MY "GREATLY IMPROVED" VERSION OF THE PLAN + A COPY OF THE CONSTRUCTION ARTICLE IN THIS OFFER
